What is the Rodney Coast Challenge?
The Rodney Coast Challenge is the premier fund raising activity for the Kaukapakapa Scout Group, Sponsored by Canoe and Kayak as our major sponsor, the event sees upwards of 500 athletes competing in a race from Muriwai Beach on the West Coast to Wenderholm Regional Park on the east, covering a distance of 72 km in the attempt. The race draws top athletes, corporate teams and people just starting in the multi-sport arena
The Group has run this event since 1998, the money raised has been used to subsidize, uniforms, books activities, National and Area camps and family activities such as the family camp. With the large number of competitors and supporters involved, the distance covered we need a vast array of marshals to assist to maintain the standard and reputation we have developed as one of the top multi sport events in New Zealand. A large number of our competitors have entered every year because of the organisation and the family atmosphere
Where do you come in?
On the day, every Scouting family is required to supply at least one adult volunteer to assist in running the event
